Laban Matteson to Charles E. Buck
Dated March 11, 1839

Know all men by these presents that I Laban Matteson of
Shaftsbury in the County of Bennington & State of Vermont in
Consideration of One hundred Dollars to me paid by Charles E
Buck of Arlington County aforesd the receipt whereof I do
Hereby Acknowledge. Do by these presents give grant bargain
Sell & convey unto the said Charles E. Buck his heirs & assigns
A certain parcel of Land situate in Shaftsbury Aforesd & described
As follows VIZ; Bounded on the North by the highway &
Lands of Jared Matteson & east by Lands of Lovisa Connell
& Caleb Matteson with All the privileges and appurtenances
Thereunto belonging or in Any wise Appertaining to have
And to hold the above granted premises to the said Charles E.
Buck his heirs & assigns to his & their use and behalf forever
And I the said Laban Matteson for myself my heirs ancestors
& administrators do covenant with the said Charles E Buck
His heirs and assigns that I am Lawfully seized in fee of the
Aforegranted premises that they are free of all encumbrances
That I have good right to sell and convey the same to the
Said Charles E Buck & that I will & that my heirs executors &,
Administrators shall warrant & defend the same to the said
Charles E Buck Aforesd his heirs & assigns forever Against
The lawful demands of All persons.
In witness whereof I hereto Set my hand &
Seal this 9th day of March 1839--

Bennington County          There personally appeared Laban
Matteson the signer & sealer of the written [?] Instrument
& acknowledged the same to be his free act and deed
