Wilbour Matteson to Russell Matteson
Dated January 8, 1819

To all People to Whom these presents Shall come Know ye
that I Wilbour Matteson of West Greenwich in the County
of Kent and State of Rhodeisland and Providence
Plantations Yeoman for and in Consideration of The
Sum of four Hundred Dollars to me in hand well
and Truely paid by Russell Matteson of Coventry in
the County and State aforesaid Yeoman the Receipt
Whereof I do hereby Acknowledge and myself there
with fully Satisified Contented and paid thereof and
of Every part and parcel thereof do Exonerate Acquit
and Discharge him the Said Russell Matteson his
Executors and Administrators forever by these presents
I do Give Grant bargain Sell Covey and Confirm
unto Russell Matteson his heirs and assigns forever A
Lot or Tract of land lying and being in West Greenwich
and is buted and bounded as follows VIZ, Beginning
at the Southwest Corner of Jonathan Whaleys Land
from thence Southerly to s Stake with Stones around
it,from thence Easterly untill it comes to Joab Woods
Land to a Stake with Stones around it from thence
Northerly till it comes to Jonathan Whaleys Land to a
Stake and Stones around it from thence Westerly
till it comes to the first mentioned bound, Said Lot
Containing Thirty Acres be the Same More of Less.
To have to hold all the afore Granted and bargained
premises with all the Priveledges to the Same belonging
or in anywise appurtaining to him the Said Russell
Matteson his heirs and assigns forever, to his only proper
use benefit and behoof forever, And, I the Said Wilbour
Matteson have in myself Good Right full power and
Lawfull Authority to Give Grant bargain and Sell
Said premises In Manner aforesaid and am Lawfully
Seized and possessed of the Same as a Good and Lawfull
Estate of Inheritance and that the Said Russell Matteson

his heirs and assigns shall and may from time to time and
at all times forever by force and Virtue of these presents
Lawfully Possess and Enjoy all ove the above bargained premises
free and Clear from all Manner of Gifts Grants or Sales
in any Measure that may Obstruct the present Deed
Furthermore I the Said Wilbour Matteson for myself
my heirs Executors or Administrators do Engage the above
premises to the Said Russell Matteson his heirs and assigns
against the Lawfull Claims and demands of any person
or persons Whatsoever forever to Warrant Secure and defend
by these presents all the afore Granted and bargained
premises In Witness Whereof I have hereunto Set my
hand and affixed my Seal this Thirtyeth day of October
in the Year One Thousand Eight Hundred and Eighteen
