Will of Hezekiah Mattison
Dated December 19, 1780, Proved February 5, 1782.

In the name of God Amen, I Hezekiah Mattison of -
Voluntown in the County of Windham and State of connecticut Yeoman
being in perfect health and of perfect mind & memory thanks be Given
To God therefor and Calling to mind the mortallity of my Body and that
it is appointed for all men once to Die do make and ordain this my last
Will and Testament that is to Say principally & first of all I Give
And recommend my Soul to God that gave it, and my Body I recommend
To the Earth to be buried in a decent Christian burial at the discretion
Of my Executor hereafter named nothing doubting but at the General
Resurrection I Shall recieve the Same again by the mighty power of
God, and so Touching Such wordly Estate wherewith it hath pleased
God to bless me in this life, I Give Demise and Dispose of the Same
in the following manner and form, Imprimis I Give & bequeath to
My well beloved Wife Mary Mattison all my indoor household moveable
Furniture during her life or Widowhood; Item I Give and bequeath to my Son
George Mattison five Shillings which is what he hath already
had the full of his portion. Item I Give and bequeath to my Son Peleg
Mattison five shillings which is what he hath already had the
full of his portion. Item I Give & bequeath to my Son Thomas Mattison
All my Real Estate together with all my farming Tools & Cattle &
Stock of all kinds to him the sd Thomas his heirs & assigns forever &
Also appoint & ordain my sd Son Thomas the Sole Executor of
This my will and Testament. Item I Give and bequeath to my Daughter
Judith Spink five Shillings which is what She hath already
had the full of her Portion. Item I give and bequeath to my Daughter
Fear Andress five Shillings which is what She has already
had the full of her Portion. Item I Give & bequeath to my Daughter
Freelove Aylsworth five Shillings which is what She hath Already
had the full of her Portion. Item I Give & bequeath to my Daughter
Mary Manchester five Shillings which is with what She hath Already
had the full of her Portion. Item I Give & bequeath to my Daughter
Sarah Mattison five Shilling which is with what She hath already
had the full of her Portion. Item I Give & bequeath to my Daughter
Zelpha Brigs five Shillings which is with what She hath Already
had the full of her Portion. Item I Give & bequeath to my Daughter
Elizabeth Smith five Shillings which is with what She hath Already
had the full of her Portion And do hereby utterly Disallow Revoke &

and Legacies bequeaths and Executors by me in any ways before
named willed & bequeathed ratifying & Confirming this and no
Other to be my last Will & testament in witness whereof -
I have hereunto Set my hand & Seal this 19th Day of December
in the Year of our Lord one Thousand Seven Hundred & Eighty

Then personally appeared Mr Robert Wilson & William
Vaughn two of the Subscribing witnesses to the within written
Will & made oath that they Saw Mr Hezekiah Mattison -
Testator to this Will Sign Seal & heard him publish & pronounce
The Same to be his last will & that they Together with
Daniel Vaughn the other witness to this will Set to their hands
As witnesses at the Same Time in presents of the Testator
And that the testator was at the Same time of a Sound &
Disposing Mind and Memory Sworn before me - - - - *
