                                                                           Record of the Last Will and
                                                                           Testament of Reuben S. Matteson
                                                                           together with the proof touching
                                                                           its genuiness and validity of
                                                                           the same

The Last Will and Testament of Reuben S. Matteson

I Reuben S. Matteson of the town of Thurman Warren County
N.Y. mindful of the uncertainty of human life do make publish
and declare this my last Will and testament in manner
following -
First: After the payment of all my past debts and funeral
Expenses I give devise and bequeath to my beloved wife Cordelia
Matteson the use of all my real estate during her life time and
my daughter Almira Matteson to have her support out of the
real estate during the life of her mother and after the death of
my wife I will and bequeath to my daughter Almira two
shares of my real estate and to my son Calvin J. Matteson
one share and to Elizabeth Monroe one share and to my daughter
Ettie Wood one share and to my daughter Helen Everts one
share all except Almira to share and share alike And I do will
and bequeath to my wife all my personal property except one
chest of carpenter tools and one double barell gun to go to Calvin
J. Matteson and my Trunk and watch I give and bequeath to my
daughter Almira and one sewing machine to Almira
Sixth : I hereby nominate and appoint Alfred Johnson the
Executor of this my last will and testament and hereby authorize
and embress him the said Alfred Johnson to confound compro
mise and settle any claim as discussed which may be against
or in favor of my said estate
In witness wherof I have hereunto set my hand and seal
this 29th day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand
eight hundred and eighty eight 1888.

Signed published and declared by the said testator to be his Last
will and testament in presence of us who have signed our
names at his request as witnesses in his presence and in the
presence of each other
